Saving Energy & Money Using Radmate Heat Reflective Panels

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Unless you’re lucky enough to live in a super insulated eco home with a myriad of energy saving features you’ll be not so pleased to learn that a shedload of energy is being wasted through those walls of your family home.

End of terrace houses in our British cities, semis, detached houses; they all suffer a similar fate. Heat loss galore!

With the price of gas these days it’s enough to give you a coronary :-0 Energy, it seems, is becoming an ever more valuable commodity and most of us are guilty when it comes to wastage.

Anyway, I digress. The reason for this post is to offer some kind of help in choosing an energy saving solution for our Georgian, Victorian and later housing stock here in the UK.

One very simple thing you can do is install low-cost, reflective panels behind the radiators which heat your home. You’d be amazed at the amount of energy which is saved simply by radiating the heat back into the room.

Your walls suck all that lovely heat out especially external walls, being exposed to the ambient temperature outside. So reflect some of it back in with reflective sheeting behind your radiators.

Radmate do an excellent line and the price is very reasonable.

Just search Even Greener for “Radmate” and you’ll find ‘em.

Happy insulating :)
